I believe in order to do that you need to use the swordguard and change it to the item type that you want.

I'm not 100% sure about that though its been a long time since I have played D2.

You make the item unique. then you change the unique name to swordguard for white. Damn it's been years since I have played. can't believe I still remember that. I always use maelstrom for a dark blue color.

In hero editor you have to find the right color for item quantities. Head over to Ladder Hall :: Diablo 2 and Guild Wars Forums and register. You will find perfect help and the right item colors and numbers for that. Good luck
