Hi all,

I recently decided to start playing D2 again so reinstalled everything. I had bought the original version when it first came out and then more recently I got the expansion CD. So, I go ahead and load everything and it all seems to be fine. I then decided to use a no cd loader so I dl'd the one from this site. However, I can not seem to make it work right.

I copied the exe over to the D2 folder as the readme instructed. When I start the game, it seems to load fine through the first couple of initial screens. However, once I get to the screen that shows the expansion name I can not get any further. The game crashes to desktop and I get a popup that says there is a big problem.

Can anyone give me some suggestions on how to make this work?

well uhh.... unless you have major cd lag, id say dont use it at all

Have you done a full install of both D2 and the Expansion? As well as copied the few files it wants such as d2xmusic.mpq (i think is one of them).

Download and install v1.10 patch from the blizzard site before trying to use the v1.10 d2loader, it more than likely will give you errors of some sort.

Thanks, that worked. I had already done a full install of D2. Since I had played on battlenet I had the v1.10 patch for it. When I installed the full expansion I assumed the patch was already there. Went to the blizzard site and saw there were two different patches (one for basic and one for expansion). dl'd and installed the expansion and the no cd loader works now. Thanks alot.
