Problem with Command & Conquer: Generals & VISTA

I installed the game successfully (at least thats what it looked like)

When I press PLAY it hangs on the start screen.

This also happens with GENERALS as well as ZERO HOUR

I am running VISTA Premium

System Specs are:
CPU: INTEL CORE2 QUAD Extreme
Mobo: ASUS Striker Extreme
Mem: 4GB (1GB x4)
GPU: ASUS NVIDIA EN8800GTX/HTDP/768M
HD: 4 x 120GB SATA drives in Raid 0+1

It worked fine under XP for the same system.

Any ideas?

I would check for Vista patches and make sure you have Nvidia's drivers, not Microsoft's, for your vid card. Also, when I say Vista patches I mean ones for the game not Vista, if you're not keeping your OS up to date and complaining about shit you need to get out. If that doesn't work hit Westwood/EA forums and see if anyone has a solution. I'd check it out myself but I'm lazy.

Yea Vista updates themesleves help out the OS alot form what i found and also microsofts installed drivers were messing with some of my games(although running them but at a snails pace) but after i downloaded all the updates and Nvidias latest driver pack and everything seemed ok.

Ofcourse Westwoods site would be able to tell you alot about know issues under Windows Vista.
