Ok, if you take an armor and use the socket quest will it get 4 sockets? and if so, will it become a socketed item(gray or eth color) so i can make a runeword (stone) out of it? Because i was going to trade for a 4 socket armor but if i can just find a regular armor and socket it that'd be a lot better.

The number of sockets depends on the armor, the quest grants the max amount of slots the item can have. Ex. Mage Plate/ 3 os Archon/4 os.

Yes you would be able to make runewords out of them.

so a sacred armor would get 4 sockets since its elite form right?

quest one in act5 where you kill shrenk. And i found my sacred armor and it got 4 sockets like you said. Thx again guys
