I am not too sure about this claim. I am a non-ladder player and I managed to get a Mal rune from 2 Um runes and a Topaz on LOD 1.10. And I didnt read anything on Arreat Summit that discloses otherwise. Maybe you would like to double-check?

I do that to get vexs alot. I pick up any rune i drop and stash it away. I do so many pindle runs and nm andy runs i drop dozens every day, i pick up everything, cause you'll drop enough el runes to make 5 zods before you'll ever actually drop a zod. I've been doing it for 4 months and i've made 4 vexs.

1 Zod rune is equivalent to 2 Cham runes,
which in turn is equivalent to 4 Jah runes,
which in turn is equivalent to 8 Ber runes,
which in turn is equivalent to 16 Sur runes,
which in turn is equivalent to 32 Lo runes,
which in turn is equivalent to 64 Ohm runes,
which in turn is equivalent to 128 Vex runes ...

So at your rate, you took 4 months for 4 vexs, which means 1 vex per month. To get 128 Vex runes (to make a Zod rune), you will have to spend 128 months ... meaning you have to continue at your rate for another 124 months ... and that's more than 10 years !!!

i don't see the point of transmuting high valued runes anyway. i wouldnt transmute all the way up to a zod thats for sure

You're better off just to trade, at higher levels can't you trade straight 1 to 1? One Jah for one Ber? There are limitations obviously, at least when ladder was newer it was easier to trade without value worries... *sigh*

LoL i'm not doin it as my ONLY way to get runes. Just something to do with the crap ones i drop. I could have went much higher using the Ios, Dols, and such i drop but i don't transmutate anything past shael since they hold trade value on their own. The only reason i went up to vex is to make hotos to trade.

oh. maybe there are a lot of non-realm players like me who just want to try to do it the hard way of getting a Zod rune eventually. Most of us just play it as a solo game like any other games, without trading and teaming-up and such.

no doubt it is hard (an understatement). but like any other games, anything that is not hard nor challenging is not worth trying, right?

and to these players (myself included), we will realise the true worth of a Zod rune as opposed to those who trade on Realms or find unorthodox means of getting one.

but i have a feeling i will stop playing the game way before i find even a vex or cham rune ... haha ...

nah, not ridiculous at all. just get a nifty little program like a bot that all day picks up any runes and automatically transmutes them. hahaha

I was talking about going straight from El runes. Also, Botting is Cheating, and Cheating is lame. Srsly.

What Nex said. And you came to the wrong forums if you think cheating is lame. Forgetting to put vowels in your words is lame actually. Botting is just fine.
