will d3 be announced at WWI 08? - Posted: 06-07-2008
i dont know if anyone has been following up on any of the d3 news lately but
diablofans.com (formerly known as diablo3.com)
has been busy lately with the latest d3 rumors
from the recent acquirement of the diablo3.com domain from blizzard, the upcoming WWI in 28th - 29th of June, blizzcon 08 expanding to 3 convention halls from 2, etc...
the people on diablofans.com seem confident it will be announced at WWI
i am quite convinced too and im a pessimistic person.
do you guys think this time they will actually announce diablo 3?

Every year, there are always a few events that spark everybody's interest and suspicions. However, every year everybody is continually let down by the news of no news regarding D3. I'm at the point where I'm not going to even think about it until it is 100% real.

As for the domain acquisition, Blizz could have attained the domain so nobody else could make a fake D3 site and get a million hits in a week etc.

I'm pretty sure they are going to release it. My brother said that everytime Blizzard release something, they release it at the place where its most liked. I think they are going to France or something European, and thats where most Diablo players play, according to my little brother.

He also said that Blizzard bought all the Diablo 3 domains. Now you wouldn't buy them if your not going to use them.

What I want most from Diablo 3 is the same feel as Diablo 2. The feeling you get from Diablo 2 is unique, and I want that in Diablo 3.

(Wow, this thread is going to really make me look pessimistic)

Blizzard better not make D3 into the new WoW. For D3, I basically want D2 with packaged up pretty with nicer graphics, less glitches, a server with LESS LAG, a new story line, and a few new gameplay aspects. As a D2 player, I do not want sweeping changes that will make D3 completely different from D2. With out luck, Blizz will **** D3 up.

But great idea. Just make a better Diablo 2 and call it Diablo 3.

They did a good job on that in Starcraft, but real time strategy games are pretty alike.

Well, if they do to Diablo what they did with Starcraft or Warcraft (excluding WoW but wc3 series), I think it's safe to say Diablo 3 is a safe bet for good. But, i'm sure we can look forward to a. more lag b. late patches c. lots of bugs d. improved graphics, but not TOO improved.

Any D3 other than point/click and the D2 players will most likely be unhappy. Anyways I don't foresee D3 coming out any time soon if at all. With the story where it's at, it would have to be a redone story of 1/2, or a prequel, or some farfetched lame ass story that came straight outta nowhere and makes no sense.

Nobody can handle the leetness of this sig.

Do you guys really care about the story? I personally don't care at all. Especially the huge stories of Wow.

Stories matter for RPG's. For FPS's and everything else then by all means ignore a story plot altogether.

Story is extremely important to me. I can enjoy games with a poor story and good gameplay, Halo, but it takes away from the game for me.

I agree with a lot of you about how i do not want d3 to turn into a WoW clone. On the other hand, I think that WoW has some unique features that would work very well with D3. For instance, the use of the guild system, also perhaps having an arena like place to compete against other players like CTF and such. I'm just saying that even though none of want it to turn into WoW it would be bad if they worked some of its features into d3.

I believe and hope that Blizz knows what we want. SC2 looks promising, they kept all the same stuff from SC in SC2, Just kicked it up a notch!

D3 will be good. Blizzard is not like those stupid companies, there smart and listen to there fans. I have faith for D3 and hope that there in production of it now!!!

Lets hope for the best shall we!

I agree with you guys that D2 will be released. Just hope it's like D2 but 10x bigger and 10x more to do. keep the core gameplay but and some new dueling strategies.

I like to thank Frogman for making my awesome sig!

Ok seriously...if it's going to be pretty much the same game what would be the point in making it? Sales would be absolute shit. You know why Hellgate: London didn't do well? People played it and though, "Hey, I've played Diablo already damnit." Also, since when has Blizz listened to their fans? Have Warlocks ever been nerfed in WoW? Where did Star Craft: Ghost go?

We have just received the press schedule for WWI and there is one interesting thing to note. After the main presentation which runs between 11:45 and 1PM, Blizzard will be holding a press conference. This raises the question, why hold a press conference straight after unless something rather special was going to be announced. We already know about StarCraft 2 and Wrath of the Lich King, and we know there will be developer Q&A sessions with those devs throughout the day. Could we be on the verge of a Diablo 3 announcement?

Next week four of us will be at the event reporting directly back to you here at Diabloii.Net so if something rather special does emerge, you'll be getting the scoop right here.

They listen a lot. But Blizz can't do everything fans say: "PLEASE BALANCE ROUGES", "PLEASE BALANCE WARRIORS". "PLEASE BALANCE DRUIDS".

"PLEASE THE TANKS ARE UGLY!"

Blizzard actually changed the Tanks to a different scheme to look better. It looks a bit better now. The Bunker still looks shabby.

But the point is. Just because Blizzard doesn't listen to every complain and change them, even if they are popular, doesn't mean they don't listen.

And also. I wouldn't play Diablo III if its changed to the point where it doesn't feel like Diablo II.

I want to play Diablo III, not a next generation mmo. Blizzard doesn't listen to fans yet over 8 million players play a game that they have to pay?

And lastly. One of the prime reason but not the only reason, is that since it was made by the creators of Diablo people thought it was going to be like Diablo III so they went out and bought it, however, they were ted because it was not.
