Topic ^^, the game was hot untill zedane hit the guy with his head. Hmm thats a nice was to end his career.

Italy let France do nearly anything it wanted Sunday, except win the World Cup. That belongs to the Azzurri, 5-3 in a shootout after a 1-1 draw.

Outplayed for an hour and into extra time, the Italians won it after French captain Zinedine Zidane was ejected in the 107th for a vicious butt to the chest of Marco Materazzi. It was the ugliest act of a tournament that set records for yellow and red cards, diving and, at times, outright brutality.

It was the last move for Zidane, who is retiring.

Without their leader for the shootout, the French only missed once. But Italy, rarely strong in such situations, made all five. Fabio Grosso clinched the Azzurri's fourth championship, and his teammates had to chase him halfway across the pitch to celebrate.

Only Brazil has more World Cups, five.

BUT CONGRATS TO ITLAYYY..AND WELL FRANCE PLAYED THE BEST..!!

But the act of Zidane was bad..for a captain.

Its a guess in which way teh ball kicks but unfortunatly, that kick went for the upper post and didnt land in teh lines :P

well i was originally gonna cheer for france but then i thought about it. I figured id better cheer for italy since they beat germany(team i wanted to win). So atleast now i can be like ya my team lost to the world cup champs lol

I watched all of it, They shouldn't have even gone to Penalty kicks, Frances Penalty kick in the start was totally BS since that was in no way a foul. Also that time when they made it in but they said it was offsides was BS too. Zidane is a total ****head, even if Zidane was in the Penalty kicks, how would tha thave changed anything, He wouldn't have replaced #20 (Who missed), so the outcome would have remained.

it was 6-4

italy played well in the first half but sucked in the 2nd and overtime. the french outplayed italy but they could never finish it off. henry faked a penalty and if he hadnt italy would have 1 ,1-0 with no overtime. but ill take the victory no matter how bad italy preforms.

ps i wouldnt want to be the guy who missed the 2nd penalty kick right now!!!

Shevchenko was pretty much ukraines team hes a pretty good player i watched a few of there games b4 italy

i'm not a big soccer(football) fan(not big in America really) and us team lost anyways. but i was rooting for Italy since i'm italian :P. But i watched the highlights, I had a good laugh when the french guy headbutted someone.

IMO the penealty cancelled out in the end because of the second foul in the box.. and the guys was slightly offside.

Ans stat wise France outplayed Italy in the second half.
