Recently, America and the world maybe, has (I feel this way) suddenly noticed about biking, and biking is getting more popular, I have become a biker with my older brother and we occasionally do some 25-40 mile runs. We road bike, and I was wondering if anyone else has a biking fetish.

not into biking myself, but i think part of that sudden obsession you are referring to is due to lance armstrong...at least here in the US

Yes Lance Armstrong has been a big part of making biking more popular, and being slightly overweight myself I like to bike often. I think Lance Armstrong and some of the other riders like Jan Ulrich(Germany) have made it popular around the world too.

I like to walk or bike long distances. During the summer I ride my bike 3 miles downtown and 3 miles back in the heat.

Aw, metalhead, 6 miles is nothing, I ride to a Fry's electronics store 4 times every week, and each time is around 11 miles, going downtown is fun though, hot chicks/starbucks.

I like onroad/offroad biking...

But motorized.

Excellent mileage, but I'm not to fond of foreign bikes. I like Harleys and whatnot but I hate the sound/appearance of crotch rockets.

I hate to bash on american-made products, but when you buy a harley you are mostly paying for the Harley brandname. The bikes themselves are very heavy, underpowered, and not as relaible as japan imports. And god forbid you get their awful superbike model.

But what it all comes down to is what you feel comfortable on. Right now I'm looking for speed becuase I'm young and dumb, and also chicks dig guys on sportbikes.

An ex250 is by no means a crotch rocket (it has the look, but not the power). Right now I'm looking at a honda CBR600 which is a decent machine, I'm still hesitant about getting those CBR1000 superbikes, or god forbid a Hyabusa (sp?) GSXR1300.

Also if you don't like the sounds ricegrinder sound of stock exhaust, there are high-flow systems you can buy that are as loud (if not louder) then a harely and have a pretty throaty sound.

And the funny thing is.. I'm only 11, today my brother did a 40 mile run, 7 miles were up hill

wtf you're 11, lol. this summer i rode my bike a lot for fun, but then i went swimming and the bike got stolen, since that i've sat around and gotten fatter n fatter.
