(spits)" but yeah billions of people ain't gonna die. its 2005 someone will find a vaccination. the bubonic plague wasn't even that bad. we're more likely to contract the disease of the living dead than all dying from bird flu... |

Credits: 0 Spent time on board: - Rep Power: 4 ![]() | this isnt a black plague, its a shittin bird flu. if 1/3 people die, thats going to be over 2 billion -_- also, bird flu, being from birds, does not spread well from person to person. slow it is. Is there a cure for bird flu? No. There's no cure for any kind of flu. The case fatality of even highly virulent flu strains are a couple of deaths per 10,000 people who are infected Can you get bird flu from eating chicken or other poultry? No — if the meat is fully cooked. Cooking kills flu viruses in poultry, meat, and eggs. The bird flu virus can survive on raw meat from infected poultry. Proper hygiene — hand washing and the disinfecting of all surfaces that come in contact with the meat — is essential. As of Oct. 10, 2005, the World Health Organization reports 117 confirmed cases of H5N1 bird flu in humans. Sixty of these people have died. source ht tp://ww w.foxnews.c om/story/0,2933,171921,00.ht ml yeah.. so no not that many people are going to die. i doubt many of you are bird farmers. |

Treatment and vaccination for H5N1 virus in humans The H5N1 virus that has caused human illness and death in Asia is resistant to amantadine and rimantadine, two antiviral medications commonly used for influenza. Two other antiviral medications, oseltamavir and zanamavir, would probably work to treat influenza caused by H5N1 virus, but additional studies still need to be done to demonstrate their effectiveness. There currently is no commercially available vaccine to protect humans against H5N1 virus that is being seen in Asia and Europe. However, vaccine development efforts are taking place. Research studies to test a vaccine to protect humans against H5N1 virus began in April 2005, and a series of clinical trials is under way. For more information about H5N1 vaccine development process. source http://www.cdc.gov/flu/avian/gen-info/facts.htm might i suggest going there to find any FACTUAL info you need on this subject.
