bush actually does help control the government, the president must approve the budget for the year, if he should find anything he doesnt like in the budget he vetos the entire thing and the congress must approve another budget and then it again goes back to the president, just remeber clinton trying to line item veto? thats why we are now trying to get it passed, so the entire budget isnt scraped and we can get all the shit out.
bush has had many a buisness before in his life, i think it is apparent that he is unsucessful in that area. but he also has a cabinet to assist him because hes only one man(monkey?) but he still in the end has the final word, so technically he is responible for our economy, but his past buisness life really doesnt apply, the entire gov ****ed up get over it and wait till 2008. oh and in my opinon, great countries will fail if you dont have the full power of the farm, so when you tip and possibly kill that cow, just think you could destroy the country.. but its my opinon
I just pray to god that Jeb Bush dosen't even compete in 2008, or maybe America will be even dumber and vote another Bush into office! Why did we even Vote Bush in the first place? Because he made all these stupid promises he couldn't fufill even with his *****es working with him? Now he's going to **** us over even more. Kudo's to you Bush!
Slippy, let's do ourselves a favor and know what we're talking about before we speak okay?
Economy, last I checked the stock market had crashed a few years ago and prices went to Hell. Also last I checked we were due for a recession at this point, which if you paid attention to things you'd know we are coming out of said recession. There are certain businesses right now that are not doing so well, the movie industry for one, and this is more due to consumers and corporations than it is the government. See our economy is not based on how much money our government has stashed, which is actually bad for the economy considering that stash is out of circulation, it's about how much money is working it's way around and being spent (All in relation to current prices, taxes, and blah blah blah). As far as individuals go our economy is not dead but yes the governemnt is in a deep debt, because wars cost money, and they have to find ways that they can pull in some extra revenue.
Food stamps and subsidies in general are really bad programs I feel in how they work. I think if you have not shown effort and progress towards finding a job or putting forth the effort to getting into a better financial situation then you should be cut off. My tax money should not go into your pocket for sitting on your ***. If I can get a $10 an hour job you should be able to find something out there...You could atleast try.
If there are any major flaws in this let me know...I'm tired and I have to work tomorrow morning.
I agree with ZX on this one, although bush isn't to blame for evrything. He is the one who know of everything that happens, and if a commitee was talking about cutting food stamps, couldn't he have gotten over there and said "choose a wiser budget cut, such as the war you're cutting this for?" Yes he could.
As for people complaining about their loss of food stamps, if you can say "I need those food stamps", you can say "Welcome to McDonalds, how can I help you?" There's no need for those subsidies. They only allow the poor to feel poorer.
Rember boys and girls if you dont like whats going on in our government you do have the right to change it. Organize petitions, and write letters to your local congressman asking for a change. It is a federal law that they read all letters that are sent to them. If you can get enough people in the area that share your views then they will change their views to suit the voting population. But sitting on your butt playing D2 and complaing in the forums wont change our government. you must take the initiative.

exactly.
although judging from some of you guys' arguments and spelling i dont know if you have the intelligence to pull this off
well bloodangel/nighthawk i think the pertains to the whole of america not just this forum, i think generally america is showing a lack of intelligence as far as bush is concerned
bush or america dont care about the people they just care about money and anyway possible they can get votes. although there have been a few presidents or people that have tried to make difference like j.f kennedy, martin luther king jr, abe lincoln, etc.. but they have been killed as have the rest. for trying make difference
dude...subsidies dont go to the poor, they go to farmers. and if you knew anything at all about economics you would know that they are necessary.
Are you saying farmers aren't poor? I can't think of a farmer rich opf his ***. I live in Iowa too, my relatives are farmers, I know they use food stamps. But they don't need them financially, they could survive without them.
pyro.... there arent poor farmers.... the gov makes special arrangements for farmers....plus many are company owned. sure the farmers have and will have there problems more so mayhbe than others but there isnt a story today of how a farmer lost his farm b/c hes poor

JFK was not a good president...that's a different subject though.
And if Bush was just trying to get votes he wouldn't still be committing us to Iraq, as it is unpopular. Also, he doesn't need votes since he's not allowed to run again. So please, I beg you, refrain from ever speaking in a political discussion again.
Try to remember one thing. Because of Bush and his invading Iraq, people who were executed, just for being born to a certain group of people can now freely walk the streets of Iraq w/o having to worry about being shot at.
Also it should be pointed out that while in Iraq, US troops have found several unmarked mass graves. These were probably people who spoke out against Saddam or people he just didn't like. So quit condemming Bush before you know the whole story. I bet there is a lot of people in Iraq who like him because they are now getting to experience the same freedom of speech, and other freedoms we take for granted everyday.
And no one ever said the price of freedom was cheap.

exactly. people in bhagdad(sp?) celebrated and tore down a statue of saddam when US troops invaded their city. who ever heard of a country CELEBRATING BEING INVADED? that to me says that everything we are doing in Iraq is worth it.
Also, Welfare cuts have been around since Clinton. Both parties were for making Welfare harder to get, and to cut it dramatically so don't blame just Bush for that. He's just continuing the plan set out by earlier Gov't figures.

So that's why were in Iraq...I get it now.
Nighthawk, if you are saying we murdered civilians randomly as part of the invasion, use murder, or killed, or something like that. Don't use executed because that hints as to an enemy of society. We did execute, but not as ou use it.
You know what? I don't care why people think we went into Iraq we took Saddam down. He was murdering people left and right and may have ended up getting nuclear weapons down the road. So if you all think that removing a mass murderer from a position of power is bad then go ahead and continue *****ing about it...if not then shut the hell up.
