Shortly after three eight-year-old boys were found mutilated and murdered in West Memphis, Arkansas, local newspapers stated the killers had been caught. The police assured the public that the three teenagers in custody were definitely responsible for these horrible crimes. Evidence?

The same police officers coerced an error-filled “confession” from Jessie Misskelley Jr., who is mentally handicapped. They subjected him to 12 hours of questioning without counsel or parental consent, audio-taping only two fragments totaling 46 minutes. Jessie recanted it that evening, but it was too late— Misskelley, Jason Baldwin and Damien Echols were all arrested on June 3, 1993, and convicted of murder in early 1994.

Although there was no physical evidence, murder weapon, motive, or connection to the victims, the prosecution pathetically resorted to presenting black hair and clothing, heavy metal t-shirts, and Stephen King novels as proof that the boys were sacrificed in a satanic cult ritual. Unfathomably, Echols was sentenced to death, Baldwin received life without parole, and Misskelley got life plus 40.

For over 11 years, The West Memphis Three have been imprisoned for crimes they didn’t commit. Echols waits in solitary confinement for the lethal injection our tax dollars will pay for. They were all condemned by their poverty, incompetent defense, satanic panic and a rush to judgment.

But there’s still hope for them, and you can help.

That may be possible, But i doubt a cop would want to pin a crime on someone by going that far, so i kinda guess it rules out that case, im not trying to find out who did it, im trying to prove that they didn't do it. they do not deserve this, they did NOTHING wrong.

Ugh, that is just ridiculous the whole story I have heard of it before and I still get disgusted.....First off the whole satanic thing has never once been seen or proven for murder or even sacrifice of a human it is baseless to say what the prosecution said, Hell from what I have heard and seen I should be a ****ing murderer 20x over.

And I am sorry, but basing any thing off of the retarded kid is just wrong, I am all for equal rights to any one, but in this case they needed more then just the retarded buys testimony...

These kids were victims of the almighty dollar and a poor defense.....Disgusting.

there was this thing in the newspaper, some dude was chatting online and some sicko told him to kill his parents, the guy done it and went to jail

nowhere in that whole site does it mention the blood evidence that tied all 3 to the scene of the crime, they all had victoms blood on thier clothes

this is crazy, where i live, some baby 14 months old was left outside and was run over by a truck, the parents arent anywhere to be seen or heard from, quincidence or not????

court tv did a show on the memphis 3, the topic wasn't their guilt, that didn't seem to be in question, the topic was the punishment of the retard
