He's gonna say windy, but his build which is 99/99 could be easily beat by a bvc that actually is smart and uses his leap.
What I would say is an all arounder is a bvc with some minor stat adjustments to use items like ss, to achive max block and lots of dr vs melee characters
bvc??? Lol sorry I just got back on d2 a couple of days ago.
Hey frater, what is the best dueling character BESIDES a paladin in your opinion?
I'd say that assassin is the best. Better than Paladin. For GM duels, that is.

I use 163%/99% vs casters, since you need max block vs barbs. I wouldn't say that I get beaten so easily. There's only 1 bvc in Europe that has beaten me, and he's the best on the realm. No-one else has even come close.
bvc is a fun build but it sucks for pub ownage, because you need different gear vs different chars.
edit: Anyway, let's keep the spam to a minimum. If you are not asking for a build guide and want to continue the discussion please PM me.
i have a cs zon and can't afford a jmod quiet yet and was wondering if it was worth it to pump all the dex to get to max block? currently useing spirit // 20/-20 monarch
u guys DO know that we still have GUIDES in the other parts of the forum, such as a 200fcr fber guide..
and digitalis, get enough dex for max block while using SS. and use ss when dueling barbs or other melee (for dr and block) till u get a jmod
and divine that would probably a trapper/ww sin. frater can get into the details for u
Is that guy that beat you #1 on the ladder, or are you guys non ladder?
That guys is #1 on Europe, he's got #1 barb on Ladder and NL.
I think that the best is hybrid ww/trapper, however, you need to be extremely rich to make a very good one, so let me know if that's what you want to do.

No, definately don't do that, you will need psycho amounts of DEX for max block with Spirit or a regular 20/20, so like L4E said, use Stormshield, or forget about it for the time being.

Perm 200fcr sorc? I presume this is for PvP?
Helm: 2sorc 20%fcr +mods (preferrably +STR) Shaeled, if you have 2 sox, use 2 Shaels
Armor: perf Viper upped
Weapon: Eschuta perf fire with 5/5, or HOTO (if you lack resists)
Shield: Spirit Monarch 35%FCR
Amulet: +2sorc 15%+fcr amu with mods (preferrably +STR)
Gloves: Magefists
Belt: Arach
Boots: Treks
Rings: 2x10%fcr ring with mods (preferrably +STR)
Alternatively, you could use Wizzy instead of Hoto/Eschuta, therefore you can use SoJ instead of another FCR ring, but it's up to you.
Skills: Standard fire sorc skills, max em out and throw rest into Hydra.
FHR aim is 86%, you get 55%from spirit, 20 from circlet (or 40 if 2 sox), anyway, make up for whatever you need with a 12%FHR skillers or 5%FHR scs. Fill inv with with skillers, anni, torch, rest are 20life +resi scs.
Question : Should I use hel widow maker? Or nef widowmaker? Do I have to get 2x ravens if I use widowmaker?
like frater said:
UM is what oyu would really like to go to reach optimal OWs, however, if you can't UM it, either Hel it or -15/res/str/dex jewel works very well. shoot for the UM

ww/trap
i've never made one but here's what I can tell you.
they are extremely good PvP GM duels, however they will always lose to a BvB or any other high def / high DR / high dmg char
they are extremely expensive (claws/helm/rings/ammy)
you have to be very skilled at PvP to be successful with them
the claws would look something like this: +3traps/20-40IAS/+2assasin with 2os.
the helm would be a +2/20fcr/20-30FRW/Visionary/Res/Str/Dex
the ammy would be a +2/5-15fcr/dex/str/res
the rings (to my knowledge) would be similar to a BvC's (fcr/ar/dex/str/res) though not sure if they use sojs/bks/ravens/etc
you would either go Light Sentry or WoF (which is the most underated skill in the game).
now that i think about it, you will need a Chaos for the WW, so not sure if people go Chaos/Fury or Chaos/the claw mentioned above. anyways, you go enimga, dancers/treks/gores and use MB, WW, Trap to stunlock your opponent. some sins use Widow on switch like a BvC would. try looking on b.net forums for a ghostsin guide, they are very difficult to be very good at, they are costly yet very fun from what i hear.

one more question lol, what type of charms should i get? pcombs and lifers?
Yeah, definately get pcombs with lifers, you need as much of a bonus to Holy Shield and FoH as possible.
Just looking at the build that I wrote for you, it lacks FHR so will be slightly underpowered. Definately use CoA instead of Shako and use Shadow Dancers instead of Goreriders (tradeoff ^^?), then get 2xpcombs with 12%FHR and 1x5%FHR sc, which will net you the 86%FHR breakpoint. It's quite important in PvP. Remember that you also have 2 open sockets in CoA, so use them productively (Ber if need extra DR%, Shaels if need extra FHR).

Ok this build is centered around the equipment that you manage to get hold of. Main skills:
20 Shock Web
20 Charged Bolt Sentry
20 Lightning Sentry
20 Death Sentry
Other skills that you will need:
Claw Mastery = have a decent amount here
Claw Block = put enough points into this so that you will get 60%chance to block with all of your gear on.
Mind Blast = get a claw with Mind Blast on it when making your Chaos
Fade = same as Mind Blast
Shadow Master = same
Now, if you have extra skillpoints, I'd recommend throwing them all into Fade. Fade is important because of DR% and resi, it should be your main active skill.
Equipment:
Helm: CoA with 2x-15%req/15@ jewel (if you have enough STR for CoA and won't need -req, consider putting a Shael in your CoA).
Amu: +2 Assa 15%+FCR +mods (STR and DEX are imporant)
Armor: Enigma
Belt: Arach
Gloves: Trangs/Mages (cr is nice but this build tends to be low on mana)
Boots: Goreriders, but Shadow Dancers are a good option because of skills, extra DEX and crazy FHR. Your choice. Remember that you will have to reach the 86%FHR breakpoint with all gear and charms.
Ring1: 10%FCR +mods (STR, DEX, resi)
Ring2: SoJ/Raven/rare stat ring, etc (SoJ if you are constantly running out of mana, but Raven is probably the better option due to absorb and awesome AR)
Claw1: Chaos in Greater Talon, recommended base +3 LS +1 MB
Claw2: Fury is a good option here due to OW
The best option for claw2 would be rare claw with some skills, Fool's mod, eth with self-repair, etc, but you probably won't be able to afford those.
Sorry about taking so long to answer, have been a little busy. I'm not sure that this is 100% correct, so I'm going to recalculate some breakpoints and let you know Take care.
