I seem to be having some difficulties- I downloaded the full version .80 install, unzipped everything, then ran steup.exe. It went through the dll copying fine, I then picked the directory to install (just used the default) and clicked the big install icon...progress bar pops up at 0% and then the program shuts down. Any suggestions?

when you went into the hero editor file, go to the hero editor file in the hero editor file. not the hero editor.cab. use the setup in the second hero editor folder you click into.

you can use it on Open Battle.Net, where you use the characters stored on your computer. as the characters on Closed Battle.Net are stored in the Battle.Net servers at their HQ, you can't use hero editor on Closed Battle.Net.

where exactly is the MSSTDFMT.DLL supposed to be? I've ran the setup several times but the editor still won't open.

C:\Program Files\Diablo II\Save should be where your open battle.net characters are. don't know about the dll though, try searching your comp for it.

lol chill buddy. open is totally a separate thing from closed; open chars are saved on your computer rather than on the diablo server. just go make a new char in open or single palyer, and there u go, u got an open char. edit him in the hero editor as you wish...

does hero editor v.80beta work? (sry peeps i 4got what was said in previous posts) you must install v.72beta hero editor for the v.80beta to work. and if you have windows xp, that could post a problem for you. i dunno. i heard about errors with xp. tho i dont use it so uh yeah.

what do i not understand is that many people with hero editor have many auras and assasin effects and druid ones when i make a charm is does not let me use those effects may someone please explain how to make these effects like auras and assasian defenses and attacks avalible when entering server instead of the 127% chance of starting and even when i do that they do not work

if u dont no understand what i mean i will post pictures

use aura on equipted to get all those auras. the only ones you really want on a hacked character is prayer and an elemental aura like holy freeze or holy shock. give thorns a shot two. but only use to. and dont put the maximum amount of abilities on your items. it will screw em up.

what do you mean by that? you can put auras on all characters. aura on equip doesnt mean only paladin. you can use it on assasin and druid too. only the auras though. nothin else.
