absolutely nothing. 0.80 is the best. v0.82 has a bug in it that doesnt allow you to hack. or in other words you can hack but they dont work most of the time.

can i edit colours on my items...if i put like rare names on it still eave item base colour...i want to change its color how so???

well.. if you can.... i dont know, all i know is you have to put certain names in order for the armor to be a certain color, i know a few unique names that are a certain color, if you want them: boneflame=dark red, the gnasher=golden, swordguard(i think)=white, and... theres one thats blue.... not sure.

Ok, so when i press the save button, should it just save? I dont get to choose where i save the thing like i do when i save a document in Microsoft Word? I make the modifications on my SP chars, I save, then i turn the game on and the char i changed is not there. I'm not saying the change is not there the char itself if not there. I asked in the forums and the only answer i got was "Hmm... maybe you are saving it in the wrong place?" so i was wandering about that. Any helps?

it should save automatically to the location. you cant specify.

Well after lookin through a million posts I saw this come up once or twice and noone answered it or helped at all. Its with an error when opening a character, it says 'character file size to small'. I also saw in a post about changing the unicode to single bytes. Well I cant do it, any help would be apprecieted.

this happened to me b4 too, i was using 0.82beta hero editor, and i switched to 0.80beta and it worked fine. I think the newer version has some sort of a bug in it that makes it do taht.

EDIT: um i just learned that there was a hero editor v9.0? if this is true can you give me a link because i cant download from this site for some reason.

I will probably release a version of Hero Editor for D2 V1.11 eventually (I am not working on it yet). But in the meantime, Hero Editor V0.90 already works for most things in D2 V1.11 patch.

The actual character file format for V1.10 and V1.11 appear to be the same. So, there are probably only some items, quests, and possibly some magic attributes that have changed.


BTW, if you try to open a character file from a patch prior to D2 V1.09D using an older version of Hero Editor, you will get the "default" error message about the character file size being too small. To fix the problem, make sure your D2 is running V1.09D, V1.10, or V1.11 patch, and then open and exit/save EACH of your D2 Single Player character files. Then you will be able to open and edit the character files using Hero Editor.

Also, when you open a character file in Hero Editor, it keeps track of the directory for the character. When you click the Save button, Hero Editor automatically renames the original character file to a backup file name, then saves the newly edited character file into the same directory (unless you turn this automatic option off, in the Options tab).

i made a char on single legitly (if dat a word) and then i exited to main location in d2, tried to hack lvl and shit on my sorc, and then i click single player mode double click my char and it says Unable to enter game, Bad generic file
i usually got this when i had 2 invis rings on at once but never when i only hack the lvl

hero editor has been around a while y r ppl still having problems with it..... is a good and easy program to use

the only thing i cant use properly is the nv light color or what ever

Some people dont need to use it at all, then just find it and want to use it the way i do. Just making legit builds to test how well they do and if you like to play them.
