My computer keeps going into standby every 5 minutes for no apparent reason while im talking on aim or playing a game or anything.

Especially when im online.

right cick on desktop go to properties and look there on 'power' link

If it's doing that and power isn't the problem maybe the screen is crapping out or you have a bug...?

I thikn it's your power saving settings. I almost know it is. Actually, if it goes into sleep mode WHILE you're using the computer.. well, have you scanned for viruses latley? Do you use popup blockers and run ad-aware and/or spybot regularly? If you run all of these and scan regularly(assuming your power saving settings aren't shitty), i'd suggest burning everything you want to keep, deleting 100% of your harddrive and reinstall windows. Guaranteed fix.

The way to fix it is use norton after like the 1000000th time lol.

Spy ware or Virus most likley. Put your com in safe mode and then go to my computer and put in a disk like adware (buy it at ur local comp store) and then run it and you should be good.
