no such thing as best bro. if u're gd, yr char planning up above par then its just down to yr tatics in diff situations.

but if u're toking abt versatility....hands down assassin.

the pre LOD chars are Built one way or the other; all the skills of a class focus mainly on either magics, boosters(auras) or combat, but never a good mix for a char. meaning that if u're a sorc and u plan on being a sorcerior, u'll be sacrifing skill/stat points to pump certain melee enhancing skills and stats instead of being all rounded or focused on magics.

but with lod, assassin seriously kicks arse. if yr into mindless blood and crap she's got an arsernal of charges and finishing moves that *kills*. an slvl 20 Tiger strike and dragon flight gives u a +2015% dmg, and even if Hell has a global 50% phy resist, u'll be doing a healthy +1000% dmg! And if u've maxed yr cloak of shadows and passive claw mastery........well, even bards have to gape in awe.

prefer to slack one corner and watch minions die? thats what traps are for.max out some traps, n CoS, load'em up in a room and lure all the dungheads in there. get out, shut the door...and....lets just say that an assassin is not meant to be holy.

aspiring to be a general? max mind blast, shadow warrior/master, cast CoS,BoS, lay boogies and watch a battle won.

BottomLine: Her diverse skills are her beauty.

I like sorce and barbs just they ez to use. plus i got good styff for them. Bowzons are realy good when they got wf n stuff.

it matters what u plan on usin char for pvm or pvp i think for pvm its zon for pvp it perhaps be a necro if u no how to use him i no u guys doubt me but dont im serious pallys r the funnest =) hoped i help oh and only duel with a necro if ur an asblolute PRO !

i like zons and asns for pvp. for good cowing, nothing kills faster than a zon. i dotn do much pvm but i think sorcs r good for taht cuz they can kill most immunes.

i like zons cuz mine is my best char and i have titans and black hades and v grip and ect.

i agree with what jyrmelle said about no best char, its more about your own persoanl skills that you bring to the game, but i think barbs can do some kicka$$ dmg cause they can just hack and slash most all things (PvM). in the case of those pesky phys immunes, switch to beserk and give em a taste of their own medicine. just watch out for iron maiden (i shudder even thinking about it), those can end pretty quickly with yo body on the ground of you-sa not careful.

i have never gone PvP, so i dont really know the best char there, but over time i have seen necros, with their bone spells and curses seem like the perfect choice for such a task.

my favorite is a bowzon wit the right stuff and they're no good for just PvM they're good for PvP, but then again there is really no char tat is ''the best'' i just think bowzon in my opinion

sorry for double posting but u really havent gone PvP b4? since everyone has been playin d2 too long it gets boring doing the quests and teh actual game so i duel to keep myself entertained(mostly everyone does)

nope, i've never gone PvP. i keep myself busy levlin chars, and helping lowe levels out with stuff that they may need help with and such, like ancients or items or bosses.

Id have to say hands down that the pally is the best. When u first create one, hes got the most well balanced skills,first of all. Second, when u hit lvl 12, U GET ZEAL, zeal is like the most effective attack u can set to left mouse button. Third, youve got two types of auras, off. and def. (obviously), and when u get to lvl 30 you get FOH which when put up to lvl 20 just flat out Kicks @$$. That and almost all the defensive auras get bonuses from each other.

I mean I mainly use a barb and a sorc but, thats only bcuz i know how to use these chars and there easy to use. If you plan out ur char from the begining then it shouldnt matter wat kind of char u have. All that really counts when creating chars is the person creating it. Now some people may say oh yea bow zons rock with good bows but dont barbs rock with great swords or axes or armor???It mainly comes down to the player and the players experience with the game.
