anyways, i've experimented with assassins for quite a while, (3 in progress, 3 finished normal and quit, and 1 finished nightmare and got upto act 2) so yeh, know quite a lot about them. also 1 of my fav characters.

anyways, PVM, wel theres quite a few PVM assassins, unlike other characters, assassins can be good in PVP AND PVM.

(1) traps- quite popular build, i've got one in progress.
skills :
wake of flame- 20 (for big groups of annoying enemies "FALLENS")
wake of inferno- 20 (for strong bosses and some eemies)
death sentry- 20 (main heavy damage)
fire blast- 20 (pick out enemies while your traps are at work, also adds to your traps)
burst of speed- 10 (faster attack speed and walk/run speed)
weapon block- 10 (assuming your using 2 claws)
blade fury- 1 (really cool and fun skill, adds weapons damage so 1 point will do, also good for fire immune)
rest in pre-reqs

stats:
str- 90 (enough to use bartucs cut-throat, or chaos)
dex- 90 (enough to use bartucs cut-throat, or chaos)
vit- enough to survive a few hits from the strongest
ene- A LOT, literally you will need a lot, more than a sorc, about 200-300? i duno, just put the rest in here.

stuff-
duel claws- not very imortant since you wont be in combat anyways but use bartucs cut-throat for the 2+ assassin skills, 2 of them equals 4.




(2) martial arts, -my favourite, got upto hell act2 with her, amazing in PVP and PVM.
skills:
tiger strike- 20 (main skill, left click)
dragon tail- 1 (main right click skill for PVM) good since it adds bonuses from charge-up skills and has a blast radius.
dragon wing- 1 (main right click skill for PVP) haha killed my friends pally in one hit.
(tactics- run away and charge up on by-standers (monsters or merc), then run back to enemy and surpise him with a one-hit-kill dragon wing)
burst of speed- 20 (for attack speed and walk run speed, you'll need it)
claw mastery- 20 (dmg n AR is good)
shadow master- 10ish (can allways re-cast her)
Venom- 20 (good for physical immunes)
blade fury- 1 (fav skill, makes killing baal way easier, just click on him and hold down right click, good thing is baal hasn't got much of a vision radius, so he'll just stand there and let you shoot him down)
rest in pre req
(cloak of shadows is good in PVP)

stats:
str- 110
dex- 100
vit- rest in here
ene- base

stuff-
claw and shield- best to use chaos claw, the % chance to cast frozen orb is really helpful, specially against big groups.


ITEMS
i'm not really a pro, but the stuff im using now is decent.

helm- runeword delirium, (only using this cause i wana see what delirium is like, + the % to cast skills is useful)
armour- runeword enigma, (the +1 to teleport is useful, and the other bonuses are useful)
gloves- random gloves that has +assassins kills (mines +1 to martial arts)
belt- IKS
Boots- IKS
rings- anything good
sheild- (if using martial arts) using sanctury, (the resistance is good)

NOTE- i dont really like sets, they'r kinda hopeless, not much extras and also addictive.
i say addictive because once you have the full set you don't want to break it up because it takes away your full set bonuses, and no items can make up for ALL the bonuses, but if you think about it, once you have all the items you want it'll more than ake up for the bonuses. set items arn't really that good either compared to some runewords and elites.

I'm also experimenting with a blades assassin, lvl 22 so far, act 5 normal, she's not too bad, decent in PVM but i don't think she'll be too good in PVP, took me ages just to kill diablo. if you want a guide just ask, dont really think shes worth putting up on here.

anyways these are the 2 main assassin builds, oh yeah and the WW assassin aswell, should be quite good in PVM aswell as PVP, havn't really xperimented with her yet, shes on my to do list, probs start her l8a on.
