For the most part, the buffs work like a charm to increase chances of victory.

If a Priest, however, can't cast these beneficial effects, then we have a rather serious problem. Jupitergodes from the Garona realm found out that she can't buff herself with the Power Word: Fortitude and Prayer of Fortitude.

Upon casting, the graphics would show the presence of the bug, but when checked on the buff list, it's not there. Fortunately, she found a way out of this. After she spec'ed her Power Word: Fortitude, she was successfully able to buff herself.

Blizzard QA Hortus (http://wow.qj.net/tags/hortus/12668) responded to her concerned and tried to clarify things. He said, " Were you on the island of Quel'danas at the time? The buff there can not be overwritten by fortitude."
