people's ideas of what could be causing it? Lack of the old points system
etc? The new vBulletin will be out soon, and once it is I intend to spend a
bit of time re-doing user groups, adding new features like points etc.

Ive noticed it, and it irritates me really
i dont intend to let a community that i rather enjoy fizzle out

As of late ive been trying to think of Ideas to get users more interested in the forum, and also more interested in d2 again. So if anyone has any Bright ideas you can relay them upon me as well. Spit id like to help you in any way that i can so dont hesitate to Pm me or msg me on Msn or aim if you need anything.

IS it a trend of all D2 forums or just this one? Might have to do some research, because D2 as a game is dying therefore sites dedicated to it might also be as well. Or if its just this site, then we need something that makes us better than all of the rest of sites.

Doesn't seem to be a trend on all sites. It would be good if we could get
the WoW section more active.

the solution to our problem, Spit, is you have to find out a new duping method and post it on the site, after that have people register to view it. There problem solved :D

If someone knows where to get software to host a realm (I will bother to
look soon) I can always put one of them up. Or two. One running Median Mod
one Running normal, or something like that.

Well, I'd vote pretty strongly against the running of a Median server; I don't care about the server for the normal game though.

I can't really say much about getting more activity in the site. I know there is usually decent activity when there is drama occuring on the site, which happens every now and then (although it's usually nothing much more than a thread or two). Also, I wouldn't be against throwing the point system back in if it can get some activity going, as long as there is the store or something people can actually spend points on.

Why Against the median server? I have setup a normal realm, but having
issues getting it to work with the servers firewall on and being able to
create accounts :/

Anyways do you think we could host a Server similar to D2pk? i have a bunch of friends who all play d2pk with me and we are all sick of the fact that you can make a 100% perfect char but somebody can come along with Imports and still have the advantage. i dont know just an idea

I was going to make a thread about this today. I think the site is dead. Points and something to spend them on would be nice, I suppose. i think the real problem is that this site is based on a lame (dead) game. Make it wowsector, lol.

If we ever get the activity up it would be nice to remove the bots, or at least the tech one.

I think that "WoWsector" would be equally dead. WoW allows for even less freedom at character creation than Diablo. It's also more about paper-rock-scissors than D2 is.

If you go on the official WoW forums, it's all full of dumb, useless shit, QQ and nerf threads, etc. There's nothing to "discuss", there are only things to know.

Diablo II itself has become less popular due to the much cooler games coming out.

I myself am uninterested in Diablo II though I wish to restart, there's no point because it just isn't as fun.

I visit the forum now and then but just don't post. If I saw something that would make me like the game again, I'm sure others would see it too. It may also increase the activity of the site.

Why would a median server be bad? I think a lot of the people that are bored of D2 (myself included) would consider playing median. Also, we'd be able to play with other people on the forums which would be a plus. We could even create a section in the forums especially for median.

I'm not sure if Laz or blizzard could try to stop us from running a server for the mod though.

I agree with Hellsing and whoever else mentioned making a LEGIT PVP server, I did d2pk and the other ones and always some kid joins with a shitload of rigged up items and own it. Make it fair and equal to all users.

And I do have one idea, and that is StarCraft.
yes Starcraft I think that game is much more popular then diablo2, and not to mention Starcraft2 coming out. Starcraft is rising up again so maybe we should do a little more work on starcraft. That I can help with I can post legit hacks, methods, maps etc, host tourney things like that, I am an active starcraft player :)

Good Idea?

I think the problem is that everything D2 related is pretty much dead. There are more posts in small talk and flame wars than in D2 probably. If the site encompassed all blizzard games (i.e. warcraft and starcraft) then we would definantly be going places. The only problem is that to really get people to come to the site for other games, it will take more than just creating more sections, threads, downloads for it. You will have to find a way to spread the message of the site to players online. I think the only way that you could possibly do that would be to offer whole clans/groups of players their own section or something. IDK, but there definantly needs to be better marketing for the site.

It's probably cause d2 is dead. And theres not much other discussion here other than random banter and flames.
