If you notice people now have green, or grey marks underneath their names. This is the new reputation system in place. I'm hoping it will allow me and Muderman to ban less.

Basically you get one point that you can add or subtract from a persons reputation total, and for every three months your a member and for every 500 points you get an extra point per day to play with. The more reputation points you have the better your reputation. When people reach a high level of reputation, they may be offered a moderator position, or some other kind of position within the forum.

Don't forget if you help out a new member, to ask them to click the link under your name. (looks like a folder with a tick and a cross on it) and give your positive feedback. You can also leave notes for that person, negative or positive to explain why you gave/took away their reputation, and the last five of these comments should show up in your profile (this may be hit or miss wether it works or not). So if you have any questions, or ideas on how I can tweak this please let me know, and good luck to everyone.

So, you can also add negative, if you choose the "I disapprove" -option?

Yes. You will only subtract one point with each negative though. Whereas the moderators and admins will subtract and add ten points per go. If it's set up right, you should get three clicks every 24 hours. (two for your post count, and one for being a member).

EDIT: Okay, the comments don't show up in your profile, I didn't think they would. The viewprofile.php file probably has to be edited, and I don't have FTP access here, so I'll have a word with Luke, and see if thats the problem.

Well, give credit to the people who made vBulletin, as it's all built into the latest version. I just ticked yes in the AdminCP and customized a few options.

It means your in the negative. Someone doesn't like you lol. If you click on the http://www.d2sector.net/forums/fusion/buttons/reputation.gif (http://www.d2sector.net/forums/showthread.php?p=57042#) under your name you'll see how many points you have.

If they left a message, it'll be in your profile. Only you will be able to see it. If they didn't you'll just never know. It adds to the mystery.

Well, the more reputation points you have, it will mean the more important you are to the forum. If we were looking for moderators, or columnists then we'd look towards people with the highest rep. Obviously, having a bad rep is handy because it points out to the moderators who should be watched, and/or warned accordingly.

It's a pride thing more than anything. You all pride yourselves on your knowledge of d2, and now it's time to prove it.

I know I won't give bad reputation at all, unless the post is just plain stupid/spam. Everyone has their own opinions.

Thats kind of the plan. Maybe it'll stop people posting stupid threads, cos they'll know if it's stupid their rep will get trashed. I suppose once your rep hits a certain figure, like -50 or something I'll temp ban and then reset their rep for when they return.
