Prime Minister John Howard - Australia
Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.
Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote: 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.'
'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'
'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society .. Learn the language!'
'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'
'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'
'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.'
'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.' tigeroip 01-11-2008, 07:21 PM ****ign right, if the muslims cant stand christians, then GTFO Aemaeth 01-13-2008, 06:13 PM Maybe i was a tad confused to the facts.

I find it highly funny that aboriginals have now accepted the christian faith. hellsing293 01-13-2008, 07:40 PM YES! HELL YES! I agree with so much of what was said. I hate when minorities feel that they have the right to change the lives of the other 90% of the people. Why does America have to feel the need to please select groups of people and piss off everyone else. I would die happy if this was said/enacted in America. Maybe I'll move to Australia, at least there's somewhere in the world where the government doesn't seem to have its head in its ass. FraterPerdurabo 01-13-2008, 09:27 PM YES! HELL YES! Oh and btw agree 100% with Aemeth. The Aussies have no right to be pointing fingers. hellsing293 01-14-2008, 12:35 AM This is America's "freedom" and "opportunity" that you guys praise, isn't it?
No, our the freedom that we praise is the right for others to come and live in our country according to our laws. Our freedom is not to let others come in and attempt to change the way that we live our lives to better suit their needs. Our freedom is not to let others come in and attempt to change the way that we live our lives to better suit their needs. And that would make the U.S. different from basically any Western country how? Why can't they come to your country to live their own lives, not the lives of that YOU want them to live? Their laws are for their own communities, they don't have a lot to do with you.
I'm not really supporting them here, I wish certain minorities were kicked out of my country as well. However, I'm just bringing up the fact that your entire flag-waving nationalism is a tad illusional. Aemaeth 01-14-2008, 02:42 AM Having two laws in one country isn't realy practical though frater. FraterPerdurabo 01-14-2008, 03:34 AM Having two laws in one country isn't realy practical though frater. Why would you think that? It's actually very practical. And it happens everywhere, it happens in the U.S., in the U.K., or basically in any country which has a significant enough minority. All this countries have many legal systems in which different people operate. It's called legal pluralism. Spitfire 01-14-2008, 04:10 AM Maybe i was a tad confused to the facts.

Don't forget that in history everyones a villan at one time or another, except maybe the Swiss...but **** the Swiss and their damn multipurpose tools.
P.S. If memory serves me right the British were the ones who started using Australia as a convict dumping ground in the first place no? Spitfire 01-14-2008, 04:58 AM Yes The Brits used australia as a penal colony. Aemaeth 01-14-2008, 10:42 AM Why would you think that? It's actually very practical. You're misunderstanding my point.
Having one set of laws for one group and another isn't realy very fair.
Sharia law is responsible for the stoning of women, To be obvious, i don't want that in my country. I think Hellsing was saying is that its B.S. that we can't have "Christian" things presented in government. And others that I don't really want to list.
I did think Spit was lucky, now I think he is extremely unlucky. I'm sorry Spit :( Better luck next time. Aemaeth 01-14-2008, 10:33 PM Any kind of religion should hold no ground in law. it can be twisted and used to control. It doesn't, thats the thing. The Christian is in their personal shit. Its like having a Christmas card in your office. Its just kind of upscaled.
Besides, its not like they are telling you, you have to believe their beliefs, or define the laws around it. Except with Christianity, thats kinda hard. Aemaeth 01-15-2008, 12:12 AM I can see your point, but it's contradictory. Haystizzle 02-01-2008, 09:17 PM Any kind of religion should hold no ground in law. it can be twisted and used to control.
INDEED. And thats exactly how i feel about it. I beleive in god, my own god, not some storybook bullshit god thats been kicked into everyone's head for the last 2000 years.
That why freedom of religion is great. *ALL RELIGIONS* Take you bullshit somewhere else and let me do as i please. :D INDEED. And thats exactly how i feel about it. I beleive in god, my own god, not some storybook bullshit god thats been kicked into everyone's head for the last 2000 years.
