I think this will belong better in the Tech forum, seeing as how the tech people are more likely to see it there.

Yea,

I also use AVG free and it works great. Probably the easiest to use free virus protection. Avast and AntiVir are other also good ones that are free to use.

although AVG isnt the best, there are better ones but u have to pay for them. But you can always try to download them for free using the p2p network bit torrent.

Oops, my bad, but yea, If u want to get rid of the virus, Jesus or Tap can help you out. As far as virus software, AVG Free is very good.

Also, it might not be just the Virus. Depending on where you got it, it if came from the internet, its probably your firewall.

the best thing for you to do is run Spybot and Adaware before any virus checker, as im not aware whether or not AVG will detect this sort of malware. both of those programs are free and easy to use as well if you dont already have them.

if it is something worse than a virus, say a trojan, then use hijackthis.

on a side note, anyone here know how to read the logs for highjackthis?

AVG is the best. AVG never had any problems with viruses infecting my computer, nor anyone else who use AVG.

If AVG int working for you there is another freeware antivirus out there that does as well as avg if not a little better. It is called comodo Antivirus. All you do is register to their software. As for other things to scan with, you can use online scanners such as pest patrol for malware etc. and registry fix for messed up registries.

I use Grisoft AVG Free. It is powerful, updatable, and most of all free
