I thought of this at work last night when some crappy song was on the radio. I think it could be a fun idea. Name a band you cannot take seriously and why, I'll start off.

Slipknot seriously... Any band with a guy that straps a giant rubber d1ck to his face cannot be taken seriously in my book.

Linkin Park... These guys are somehow taken seriously by some 24 year old men I know which is sad. This music was made with the intention of 12 year old girls running into their room and crying out their anger because their parents will not let them go to the mall. Same goes for 3 Days Grace lol.

I heard the song "Crawling" by Linkin Park last night and it is the story of a suicidal tweeker that is seeing meth-mites. I can't take this crap seriously.

Anything that he listens to. And then theres the emo people, oh wait, I already said that. Um... country I can take seriously, I just hate it. But of course I don't know any bands, because I don't take them seriously long enough to listen to em. And every band that the lead singer is a man, but purposely makes himself sound like a girl (or non-purposefully too).

Actually, come to think about it, thats like 1/2 to 3/4 of the songs you hear on the radio that rap is about, so yeah you are going to feel that way. However, buy one of their cds and I'll guarentee you that you'll look at it in a whole new way.

Have you seen the video clip to the song Bleed it Out, the singer looks like he is trying to make love to the mic...

When I first saw it I couldn't take the band seriously full stop.

i\I feel the same way about rap. Man all the songs are damn near about the same thing. And it doesn't really take any musical talent to do, in most cases. I listen to music from a musicians perspective and if its all done by a computer with a midi controller and a ghetto ass black dude..... wheres the talent?

i hear you there. 95% of all mainstream rap anymore is all about how badass they think they are. whether it be their money, girls, rediculously huge and lame necklaces and/or "grills". theres still a few exceptions like em and lil wayne...but then again lil wayne spends most of his time smack talkin every1 else and sayin how badass he is too...this is why i dont listen to modern rap...
