Okay i quit cs for about a year because i was lagging... A year later i installed cs again hoping it wont lag..... I do not know whats going in the past few years i never lagged... My cs rates are 2500, cl update rate 100, cl cmdrate 100... I live in Canada and i am currently use shaw internet extreme package... I did a speed test from vancouver to vancouver and i got around 2000-3000 kps but i usually get 9000kps.. People say that Shaw is a community internet shairng thing....I pay like 40 bucks for it.. shoudl i consider moving to another company... Note* Sometimes when its late like 2 am or so the internet runs quite fast but wtf..... i thought it suppose to work everyday...

It "shouldn't" be anything. It depends on the servers settings.

Anyway, it can be your connection or something in the background thats causing it to lag. Take the steam background test to see if anything is interrupting with steam

most servers force the rate to be over 15000.
2500 is the default setting for 28k/56k modems, as most people were playing with them when counter strike was released.

20000 would definitely improve things for the OP.

actually it SHOULD be 20000 even though you can use whatever you want. most pubs make you have at least 15000 and when cal config is on the minimum is 20000 and the max is 25000. 25000 works but it doesnt register as well. also go to your video card settings and turn vertical sync off it makes your fps go from 60 max to whatever your card allows. ive played cs since i was 11 and im 17 now so i know what im talking about when it comes to cs.

Vertical Sync has nothing to do with lag. It just increases your frames per second.
