I have a fairly decent computer but some idiot before me put windows ME on it with XP programs (go figure) I find alot of programs just dont run on ME at all, is there a way to switch (and cheaply mind you) to XP without losing everything on my computer? That is, without going and buying XP or a new computer :-)

Just bootleg an upgrade or buy one then run it. You should keep everything that way.

If you upgrade it. Nothing should change except the Os.

So what you guys are saying is that if I find somewhere a XP disc I can load it and my entire computer stays that same? Think any of the crack and hack sites have it to download?

Well, the mention of specific illegal download sites here is forbidden, but if you were to find... say a torrent site, they *might* have the upgrade download for you. However I do not condone this action, and am only speaking hypothetically to keep the conversation going.

How To get Windows XP or Vista Free,

First you will need a camera Phone (this makes stuff easyer.)
Goto A computer Store that has display computers to show u how freaking gay they are.

Look at the back of the computer and u will see a Window Sticker on it. Take a Pic of of it. These computers never get registered with Microsoft for the fact that dont know who they will sell it to. you can be the first ;)

Now Search for this at Google (http://www.google.com)

intitle:"index.of" (iso) Windows.XP

Copy and past that and just look for the Iso

That Easy ;) btw ME= Mistake Edition

btw ME= Mistake Edition

Damn right! Every single day I have new problems with it. Today I had a freaking message pop up that said I didn't have enough memory to open a word document! WTF?

What is weird is that most of my programs such as my office suite are windows XP so I don't get why ME is even on here.

You Can installl what ever u wont on a Windows OS that has nothing to do with servies , So u can Run Office Suite on Windows 95 if you wont to. BTW Post the Specs of the Computer. If its got a older bourd then u can overclock really fast and make it run super fast and its cheap as hell. I Have a old Dell server Runing Windows 2000 Adv Server with only a 900mhz CPU and running 1 gig of ram with a older Geforce 512 card a older 5K model can remember the spec of it and i can run just about anything on it and it only cost me about 150 bucks for the Computer Ram Card and operational system all together BTW Windows 2000 if free know there is no copyright on it no more sence they dont update it.

I'm thinking about buying a MAC and just being done with windows, but I'm also a little afraid of having to relearn everything again. I hear a lot of programs that I know can't run on their system so I'd basically be starting over.

If you don't like windows just try linux. You can pretty much make it anyway you want it to be. And best of all it's free. As is every program it runs.

Umm...my first home built computer when I was 10 had those kinds of spec's. Just how old is this computer?

Lol. No idea. Its not to terrible, at least not until recently when I started overloading it. I mainly used it for browsing the internet but now its not even decent for that.

Not really. blank:

I've never bought an Os in my life. And got all of them. All my computers were made custom too.
