Ok I recently had to reformat my computer , and then when i was done my computer worked very smooth all except the internet, when ever i get online and try to get on msn , yahoo, and other secure places my internet disconnects a lot , I know it can't be my modem dying because i can play other games such as diablo 2, xenimus , and dungeon runners without it disconnecting for hours (when i have my auto dc set) but once in a while my connection does get errors and i need to reconnect and it runs fine again for a long time, but if i try to get on something like msn gurenteed to disconnect within a minute or less everytime. if anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated, if it helps im using dial-up if you couldnt already tell.

sounds like someone in your house, or using the same line as the dial-up line is trying to use the phone. What Dial-up provider do you have?

when you visit secure pages it drops you?
the only thing i can think of is a firewall that might be kicking you off..
b/c you said that during games it doesnt drop you, so that cant be usage related.

Give a list of software you use on your puter/ troubleshoot try turning off your firewall "if you useing Windows Firewall you should keep it off it does its job better that way"

You Network Card is fine, if u can connect to some domains but others crash
Software - try uninstalling and reinstallin
If you updated to Windows Servers Pack 2 after the flush and fill this may be a problem sence microsoft is gay...
