This is the idea i had: a red banner or notice or something besides the thread title, that way no one (me, this gets me annoyed and makes me feel like an idiot) can read through an entire thread, wish to post in it and find out the thread has been closed. what was i thinking of was for instance, if this thread would be closed, you put a notice in the thread section so no one will mistake it for an open thread.
ex
thread:close notice. *has been closed by...(you guys decide if you want this or not)*
thread starter: Ruin-Tumult
Huh?
Can you explain it an a better way please, maybe it's just me, but I don't get it. Like, who does this close notice, mods or members. Even if you said that, I really don't get what you mean.

i think he is trying to say that he would like to see a more noticeable "this thread has been closed" banner at the very front of the thread. note, threads already have this feature somewhat. notice the little locked mark of the threads? well that means that it is closed.

or the fact that the bar that says "Post Reply" says closed instead, you'll get used to checking stuff like that, a closed banner would just take up space.

It is not a shabby suggestion, but I am not really seeing it happen anytime soon. I have screwed up and posted in closed or out of date threads before.
it says closed near the Reply button at the top and bottom of the thread. Not to mention the button on the threadlist

If you look closely it will have a little lock on it. Look at the bottom of the page when looking for threads, it will show you the symbol. If that doesn't help you out then when you click the thread there is the reply button at the top, if its closed it will say closed. There is no use for a banner.

Heh, I'll give you some practice, seeing how it appears you'll now be able to tell which threads are locked.:D
