Here I will be posting numerous ancient riddles that I managed to dig up. Guess them if you can,

Riddle 1

I move on my feet, I break up the ground,
the green meadows, as long as I live.
If life leaves me I then bind fast
the swarthy Welsh, and sometimes better men.
Sometimes I give drink to a strong man
from out of my bosom. Sometimes the stately dame
treads me underfoot. Sometimes the Welsh girl,
dark-haired slave brought from afar,
stupid and drunk, on dark nights
lifts me and presses me, soaks me in water, warms me sometimes kindly by the fire, her wanton hands thrust in my bosom;
turning often sweeps through the dark.
Say what my name is who living ravage
the land, and dead am of service to men.

No clue, but this should be in Jokes&Pokes because it is a riddle, and neither writing or roleplay.

Um, how "shouldn't" it be in Writing and Roleplaying? It's part of poetry, look at the structure. OMG, tell me you aren't serious, wait, don't answer that.

It was Leather guys, leather.

Ok, here is an easier one.

Once I was water, full of scaly fish;
But, by a new decision, Fate has changed
My nature: having suffered fiery pangs,
I now gleam white, like ashes or bright snow.

What am I?

Yes I am serious, because ALL text is writing...I will grant you it was delivered in a more poetic format, but it WAS still a riddle. Not poetry or a writing you found or created, just a riddle.

I can vaguely see leather in that but the description fits many other things as well.

Salt.....and this is flowery as well but still a riddle.

I know you write stories and poems, what I am wondering is why you never post any.

A wonderful warrior exists on earth.
Two dumb creatures make him grow bright between them.
Enemies use him against one another.
His strength is fierce but a woman can tame him.
He will meekly serve both men and women
If they know the trick of looking after him
And feeding him properly.
He makes people happy.
He makes their lives better.
But if they let him grow proud
This ungrateful friend soon turns against them.

What am I?

No, it isn't an attribute or characteristic, it's more like a material thing.
