o really. well the news that my radio station is giving me is utter bullshit.

Still i think that the best way to combat is problem is education. Not about guns as that would only draw attention that they exist and can be used to harm others. But about what to do when threatened by a gun. This not only means that people know what to do, they are taught the evils that a gun can do and are discouraged about using it instead of being taught about just what a gun does.

The thing is...It is hard to do much against someone with a gun. Maybe they're should be ways to lock down classrooms but you always have the chance of a killer using something like that to his advantage. The campus really should have been locked down after the initial firings in the dorm.

wow america arr retards all like kill kill kill I are glad not live in america.

americans arent retards...well at least most of them but the guy that did the shooting was insane not retarded

i heard on the news that he was an out patient, i agree in this part about america being retarded by keeping an insane person in a place like va tech, i dont know about anyone else but that really pisses me off, all those people didnt have to die

as big as va tech is in size and popularity, they should have cameras and security guards ALL OVER the place

America won its freedom by use of arms and war.The right to bear arms is written into the Constitution, and legislation for this is in place. In the form of how to obtain weapons legally.
Criminals and insane people will always find a way to bypass this.
As far as the *kill kill kill * coment, dude you are thinking of another country.
At least he didn't drive a car bomb onto campus.

So far as I know the number of shot is over 50 with dead somewhere at the 30s.
This is far from a *small incident* And is NOT A WAR! WTF are you thinking?
War is war...a school shooting is a deranged act by a maniacal pissed off moron with issues.
War is carried out by patriots...at this point I suggest you shut up.

I only LOOK Asian,slightly.

Because his biological father is 1/2 Japanese, therefore he is partially Asian.
The funny thing is he inherited the American Indian features from me and is tall, lanky, coal black hair, with a nose typical of indians, and looks like a Hispanic. It is hilarious when someone walks up to him and starts a rapidfire conversation in Spanish. He then looks at me and says,"Mom they think I know Spanish!"

This is where I laugh, and say,"Yah...have fun with that."

this shooting was like a record, the second highest was 22 killed, i couldn't see ever calling this insignificant.

I hate to say it, but this sort of thing happens every day in other countries and the U.S. just ignores them.

Ex: Darfur, Rwandan, Former Yugoslavia, etc.

It's a big list, and until most people wake up and take a look at the rest of the world, these petty little incidents that happen in the U.S., will always seem huge.

Imagine having to live every day with the fear that you might be killed. It makes me mad to think that people IGNORE these genocides, yet concentrate so much on these shooting.

Don't get me wrong, the shooting was a sad thing, however I would like everyone to take a look around, before this shooting with only the deaths of a couple dozen, becomes more important then the deaths of hundreds or even thousands of people around the world.

when was this?

This is exactly my point, most American's (and yes I am AMerican) don't bother to even look at what happens outside of the U.S.)

I apologize for being so blunt but I am just stating facts.

I hate to say it, but this won't solve it. Just because you learn about drugs in school doesn't mean that people stop suing them. (I know many classmates that have. And I agree they are idiots for doing so)

Also, we have a huge problem! We have an amendment that gives people the "right to bear arms". I don't see other countries with this sort of thing. Additionally, its way too easy to get a gun.

Also, America is "suppose to be an example for the rest of the world", then why don't we see these things happening in Europe. What so different in Europe then in the U.S.? (I believe it might have to do with the fact that guns are much harder to get,and you can not just walk around carrying a gun.

We are not an example for the rest of the world. We just try to run it. I really can't imagine many countries looking up to us.

Us never hearing about incidents in Europe may be tied to a point you brought up; we do not pay much attention to counties outside of our own.

You can walk around in any country with a gun as long as no one knows you have it. Although it's far to easy to get guns in the United States. But now that we already have guns we will never get rid of them. Just like alcohol, illegal immigrants, gas guzzling vehicles, ect...Once we are over run with these problems we will never remove them completely.
