Starting Febuary I am going to start with the SOTM's(Signature Of The Month). This is how I will do it. The first day of Febuary I will mark a post in the Signature Show-off Thread somehow. Then from that day on till the last day of the month I will be looking for signatures I think look pretty good in the thread from my last mark. Then the signatures that are chosen will be taken and stickied up for voting. The voting will last till March. Notice that I will(should) have March's signatures ready up for voting. And so on it will continue like that.
What do you guys think of the idea?

don't people have to have the same choice in renders or else it's unfair. so in your post you'd have to leave a selection of renders to use etc. beforehand. a month seems like a while too, why not something like 2 weeks?

I don't think you get what I'm saying. For the reason it is a month, is because that will be the voting time till I gather up the other signatures I think look pretty good. Then when the VOTING month is over, the winning signature will be that Signature of The Month. Then a new voting will start and so on.
For the unfairness I don't get what your trying to say. I am just picking signatures that satisfy me for that certain month and then letting the public vote on what they look best, then that signature becomes ths SOTM

on a serious note...
we dont have alot of graphics guys, so the problem with the "dieing" of the section is not really the lack of art, its the lack of artists.
i think u should do something to get some people from the forums to get photoshop (legally of course *wink wink) and try makin sigs.
i dont know what could really get people attracted to wanna try it out tho :S so try n think of something

What happened to just submiting your sig, and the community decides. What satisfies you, may not exactly satisfy others. I think we should stick to the old standard, where there is a theme, and you submit your work. Also, L4E is right, we have what, maybe five graphic artists here now? Just a thought.

Thats what we have. We have a SOTW(signature of the week) and SOTM(signature of the month). And what I mean by "satisfys" me is why I am letting public vote and other staff to see what they think the SOTM should be. The SOTW #11 is currently up for all who care to participate in it.


I also have another opinion that we should have designer positions/applications open for users with photoshop experience.
Anyway, yes zerokool the SOTW answers your question.

and just a thought, i think SOTM should be more directed towards a sig then a user, so i mean u can have more than one sig from the same person in it.
make it less about the artist and more about each sig individually

Umm... I know I don't do sigs or anything, but wouldn't it be a good idea if the SOTW's made it to the finals for the SOTM?

Well, considering that SOTW singles out an artist for their work, I don't know if that would really work. I think Divine is just trying to make this about the Art aspect of it. Nice idea though. :)

Anyway, if someones artwork wins SOTM, could we make like an archive to save all the winning pieces of art in, for future referance? I don't mean the thread itself, I mean a locked thread, with no commnets, just the images and perhaps the date that the piece won SOTM. Does this sound like a good idea?

That is a good idea zerokool... I was thinking maybe FM can put it as a header on the top of the site. Im not sure though I will have to ask him
