Should I use a shield with ww barb with maxblock or will stats be wasted on maxblock and I stick with grief+beast?

What kind of a barb are you making? There are 3 kinds of WW barbs, BvB, BvA and BvC.

well if bva is barb vs all than i kinda want to make a bva should i consider not max block but some block than? Ive read guides but still not sure some conflicting guides :/

BvA is actually the worst option. Make a BvC after Loits' guide. You rarely need a shield in a duel, and when you do you can get max block relatively easily. I.e. you'd only need it vs bowzons, and if you're good you can get by without it. Storm is obviously the only choice for a shield. Obviously you'd need it in BvB, but with a BvC you don't stand a chance against other barbs anyway. Wearing a shield all the time will make you lose a lot of damage and AR and the stats that you get from it are unnecessary.

If you are having trouble vs bowzons you can still use Storm Eld.
~20 base +20 anni +20 torch +xx DEX from Tal Belt +rest of gear etc you get a decent %to block.
