I wasn't sure if this belongs here or the tech forum so sry if it shouldn't.

Anyways my ps2 won't load Soul Calibur 3. It reads the disc then the screen goes black and blimps (normal loading) then it says Playstation like everything else. Then the screen goes black like its supposed to load the the game but it doesnt. It just sits there with the black screen. All of my other games work fine. I have cleaned the lens and adjusted the lens gear, but nothing works. I have also tried a dvd and a disc cleaninng cd they dont work with the disc read error. My main priority however is to get soul calibur to work again. the game is brand new and has no scratches. My cds work however, so i think its a dvd rom problem.

I have just checked sereval dvds and they all work. The only discs that don't are the disc cleaning thing (which i dont think has ever worked on anything.) and soul calibur 3 (which i explained earlier). The cleaner disk just has the error read error.

Can you borrow a friends Soul Calibur 3 and see if it works? It seems to me that it is the disk. If it does turn out to be the disk you should return it and get your money back. If the other SCIII does not load I can help you out, that would be a weird problem.

No way to test it unless i make a trade at the store. Plus i have been playing it the last few days. It seems like it just quit. Never heard of disk just crapping out unless they get scratched.

Test it at a friends, I will almost guarantee you that it is a problem with the disk. If you want you can return it to the store, if there is no noticable damage to the disk then they should still accept it without even testing.

Your right, I have tried 6 other ps2s and the damn thing doesnt work. I'm going to have to take the thing back and hopefully get it exchanged for free. I'll probably say it never worked in the first place.
