No, the dreamcast sucked and died out. Why should they make a 2?

Sega makes great games, not great systems.

The games were fun, didn't really like the systems. That one looks like a plastic peice of shit anyway.

Yeah. speaking of (announcer voice) Marvel VS Capcom (normal), does anyone know if it's availible for other systems and where I might find it.

This winter break I actually pulled out my old Dreamcast, plugged it back in, and played some Sega Bass Fishing/Sega Marine Fishing with my fishing controller, it was pretty sweet. Another game I used to enjoy a lot when I played the system was Vigilante 8: Second Offense (car shooter).

Alas, I don't see a Dreamcast 2 in the future; Sega will prolly just stick to software and not hardware.

Dreamcast was here long enough to make a "8"?!?

Lol, 'Vigilante 8' is the name of the series. The first one (titled 'Vigilante 8') came out on I believe Playstation. This game I played was the sequel (Vigilante 8: Second Offense), which came out on Dreamcast and Playstation (maybe on others, I dunno). -jedi

Sega has said before that with the landscape of games changing that they would just stick to making games as opposed to consoles. They are more flexible that way.

Sega has made some great systems some of the best of all time, IE the Mega Drive...

The dreamcast was a great system...and you could go online with it...the first of its kind im pretty sure. They just gave up on it because the assumed they couldn't keep pace with Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft. That is a watered down market.

Sega Genisis was the only good system they made since that less people bought it

heres the deal with sega

Dreamcast was one of the best systems ever put out at the time, anticipation was huge, and sales were like hotcakes. the problem? sony had its play station 2 and nintendo with its gamecube to be released later that year. the set off date for dreamcast was delayed as production errors pushed its anticipated date back nearly 6 months. dreamcast was the first system capable of internet gaming and its games/graphics were unheard of at the time. dreamcast failed for 3 big reasons when it should have succeded. 1.Too much hype 2.Release date made people hear about ps2/gc and 3. Sega magazine made a criticale mistake by placing a ps2 ad in its 3rd issue, WHAT WERE THEY THINKINGZ!

anyway sega failed after that and quickly tried to compensate its losses on dreamcast by publicly stating that they were no longer going to make any sort of COUNSLE in the future, but there production of GAMES would continue. is there any chance of sega making a counsle in the future?NO, it cant happen. it wont happen.

at least they had saturn, genisis, dreamcast. id call there mark on the vg world legendary and they DID set the tone for the future of online gaming

much love 4 sega

The Dreamcast kicked Sony's ass for a year after the Playstation came out, it had online gameplay unlike all the other systems of its time, and it had Phantasy Star online, which many people still play today. It did not suck, it died because it didn't have as big of a name as Nintendo or Sony, and at the time Sony stole basically every video game developer on the planet.
