Make sure the D2 disc is in the same cd drive you used to install, its picky.
If you only have 1 drive, check your registry settings to make sure they are not messed up. Look in hkey local machine/software/blizzard/diablo ii
try and find a key that says installpath and make sure its the same drive letter as your cdrom drive. hope this helps.

Make sure the disc is not dirty. Check for scratches and such.


Also invest in the D2Loader(NO CD HACK)

The d2 loader just wont work for me...there were many threads bout this but no one actually bothered to help me...
