View Full Version : Mf discussion Nubli 03-27-2004, 11:21 PM ive never found a gf, wf, ss, or anything like that on closed.
ive tried an mf fire sorc, but she's just too weak.
i spend hours perfecting the right build for an mf sorc.
then once i hit hell mode, it all falls apart. FarvaRules 03-27-2004, 11:22 PM lol..well a good werewolf will own a good werebear any day of the week.....psn damage also works wonders...(i.e. 290's...100's whatever) Nubli 03-27-2004, 11:55 PM pplz tryin to sell 290's for 3-5 bucks online. i wouldnt pay more than 25 cents for 40 290's. FarvaRules 03-28-2004, 02:37 AM lol i know man...they're crazy..i'd never pay for anything on d2...thats just sad when you waste actual cash on items in the game...i just dont see how its any fun it just takes away the fun of trading and mfing... Nubli 03-28-2004, 02:40 AM trading... sigh*
i used to be a master trader in 09, even though i only had 2 months experience on 09 d2 battle.net FarvaRules 03-28-2004, 02:41 AM lol i hear ya....i been playin for only about a year now..."only a year" sounds kinda sad but..anyways...tradings whats gotten me rich...as well as mfing.. Nubli 03-28-2004, 02:49 AM i cant mf for shit... this is insane. i now know that there is no magic number for all d2 players, but its different for each player. some are good around 200, others are good around 20, some 900... i seem to be stuck around 900 cuz i cant find shit in the lower levels.
plus i dont have enough mf gear to get 900 mf. FarvaRules 03-28-2004, 02:53 AM well one thing you dont wanna do is get up to 900 mf...people always boast as to how they find so much crap at 900...but once you get above like...500 or 600...it resets...so dont bother wasting your items and what not to get that much...for me atleast...the best mf for a sorc is anywhere from 300-400...and i usually mf w/ my zon..and she uses 300...and she drops ik armor's and what not..so..id unno..i think alot of its based on luck..plus its your personal preference if you wanna get crazy high mf...or just stick between 200-400....but if you're mfing and you get like 5 bad runs...dont get down...just keep on trying...you'll always find stuff Nubli 03-28-2004, 02:57 AM mf resets at around 20, 350, 500, 750
so ive heard good mf ranges are:
200-300 (preferably 256)
400 (which i used to have but never worked)
500+ (maybe a myth)
900 (too hard to get to) FarvaRules 03-28-2004, 02:59 AM hmm....well from what iv'e heard is mf resets at higher mf lvls...not just certain numbers the whole way up....i've just always found 300 to work fine..and 400 to work fine..soo...lol i dunno..and i'm gettin ready to leave..so if you post and i dont repost...that why lol Mephisto 03-28-2004, 01:41 PM ARGH!!! where do you ppl get this stuff about "resetting mf"??? Mf goes up as you equip mf gear!! Its as simple as that!! Yes, it has diminishing returns but the correlation is only positive as you increase your mf percentage. More mf is better. period. The question about "should I put on more mf or not" only arises if you are sacrificing killing speed for mf! But I have heard this stuff about "special mf percentages" before, so I'd greatly apreciate it if someone could tell me where it is exactly they are getting this from. lycan_ 03-28-2004, 02:20 PM lool is this talking about mf or about a melle druid build Nubli 03-28-2004, 06:03 PM went from melee druid build to me not finding good items for him to mf. FarvaRules 03-28-2004, 07:17 PM Well Mephisto, MF does reset once it reaches a certain peak, if you sport 1000 mf, its basically like having 300-500. Simple as that.. jedimaster86 03-28-2004, 07:25 PM if it was me, i'd prob end up saying "screw the mf" and go for the equip that will help u kill faster. of course this strategy almost never works, so what i just said is totally innacurate. so pretty much, this is like a wasted post. kind of like a mailman who has been drinking too much............. FarvaRules 03-28-2004, 07:35 PM lol! nice post jedi....gave me a good chuckle...lol Mephisto 03-29-2004, 02:33 PM Well Mephisto, MF does reset once it reaches a certain peak, if you sport 1000 mf, its basically like having 300-500. Simple as that..
Did you not read my post or something? It does not "reset"!!! Where on earth did you get this idea from? More mf is always better. period. To take your example with 1.09 stats (1.10 is a little different but the principle reamins the same), with 1000mf your chances to find a unique are increased by 295% whereas at 300mf your chances are increased by 211%. 295 > 211 by 84%, how is that the same? Where is the reset? TroGdoR 03-29-2004, 02:56 PM Now I can't be positive about this, but I think I remember reading on the arreat summit website that mf will reset after a while... Mephisto 03-29-2004, 03:07 PM I can't believe this... there is nothing on arreat summit pages that says anything about mf resetting... maybe you read it somewhere else.....it is still incorrect though. Soldier 03-29-2004, 03:20 PM 256 is easy to get. but with tal armor ammy and belt u get 190 (if u ptopaz the armor). with a shako and occy thats already 290!! so stick with eldritch orb and get 16 mf somewhere else. that means u can use magefists instead of chancies, silkweaves instead of travs. lidless or ss instead of a 4 is monarch and sojs instead of nagels dont ptopaz the shako either or else u will go over 256 |
