i like this fire sorc but i would change 1 thing....5 in firebolt, max meteor, just switched the two.

EDIT:
damn i found another mistake....93 was required strength but storm shield requires 156 strength...

i maxed the line of fire skills, fball, fbolt, meteor, and 10 to mastery, maxed orb, works fine. all maxed skills should be around 31-32.

Donīt bite my head off if I am making a big mistake here cos I havenīt played D2 in a year and havenīt tried it out myself, so Iīm the first to admit that I could be talking crap:

According to ChippyDipīs skill calculator (find it through google) if you max fireball + its synergies + fire mastery (83 skill points) and assuming a conservative +10 to skills bonus, fireball does 8010-8824 damage. But if you just max firewall +firemastery, (43 skill points) it does 7554-7632 damage per second for 3.6 seconds on a 43.3 yard long wall.

So my question I think, is does the cast rate difference between fireball and firewall justify (for similar damage) 40 skill points?

This strat is so simply there is nothing to it.....
So simply a "newb" would even know to do this there is nothing to this skill even with bad gear it still owns.

I am not quite a supporter of fire sorcs simply because many mosters are immune to it in all the higher acts of hell (esp melee monsters). Also you must also remember that most monsters in hell have a 50% resistance to fire or more. Baal has a 70% resistance to fire, thus meaning if your meteor doing, lets say 20,000 (from all the synergies and F Mastery), hits baal, it is only dealing 6,000 damage to him. Cold I find is much more effective simply becuase it lowers the resistance of monsters to below 0 therefore they take more damage (the bonus damage is not calculated when you press "C")

Baal has a 70% resistance to fire

No, Baal has 50% res to fire in hell, same as cold. Click here (http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp/monsters/act5-baal.shtml) to see his stats.

i thin u should put bout 10 in metor if u can and instead of orb, use glaiceral spike so u can use more skill pts in other things

I have a sorc that is orb/fire wall and one that is all fire. I found that fire ball and fire wall both have advantages and disadvantages, fire wall is effective when the monster isnt moving much sence he needs to be standing on the fire to get hurt, fire ball has a fast cast rate and decent damage and is pretty easy to get hits. Another thing good about fire wall though, is that it stacks when u keep casting it, doing an incredible amount of damage. I guess it comes down to the situation, what ur fighting, how many things ur fighting, and what u prefer to use.

There isnt a "better" skill, its preference and the situation, they both have thier own qulities. Fire generally does more damage but cold slows the enime. Orb is easy to hit moving targets, but doesnt do that much damage unless u get every ice bold on target.
