i'm having trouble figuring a design for the lines, how do you and karant and others do them?

i dont get how on war****s sig to make it 'scan' only over that brush and not the rest of the sig. so it looks like the lines 'glow', if u will..

i know he explained to me in the car sigs thread but im still not sure

how do you do animation?Animation is done in Imageready . There is a button at the bottom of the Photoshop toolbar that is to the left of the screen (the one with all the brush buttons, and paining buttons, and all of the buttons), click on that and it'll take you to Imageready (the animation part of photoshop). basically, you just copy each previous slide and make changes to each of the frames to make animation. I could go into more detail, but i don't feel like it now.

And wigger, to make the animation appear, say, only on the text layer, so it looks like the text has an animation going back and forth ion it (see hurly91's sig) Just make the animation, above the text layer, and then hit Ctrl-G. it will apply it ONLY to the layer below it.

Masks.... I cant really explain it.

how do u make borders???

Go to whatever layer you want the border on. Make sure you have your Marquee tool selected. (little dotted line box on the top left of the tools pallette) Select all (Ctrl-A) and right click on the sig. Select "Stroke" from the menu, and use these settings:

1 Pixel
Black
Normal
100%

meh i got the animation to work for text but it wont work on the brushes. is there anything different i have to do?

Brushes are the exact same way as text.

well i dunno what i did wrong. i put the text on softlight and it worked fine. then i put the brushes on softlight and it didnt work. do i have to rearrange the layers or anything?

Doesn't matter what blending mode the brushes are on, just what I chose, just move the gradient layer above the brush layer and press Ctrl + G, and just tween like you did with the font.

well when i pressed ctrl+G the gradintet layer disappeared

Probubly because it went behind, did you try and move it around and it might be shown...

i tried to click on it to find it but it was like if it wasnt even there. when i clicked it went to another layer

Well should be exact same as text layer

Kay, guys. I have a problem of my own. Sometimes I'll be working on something in PS and my computer restarts (power issue, I believe. Not sure.). when I start it back up, I'll open PS and try to open the file I was working on, I get this: "Could not complete your request because the file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop." I tried opening it with cs2, cs, and neither work.
