okay i know this off the diablo subject but not really,and i didnt know where to post this at so sorry if its in the wrong spot. First off i was wanting to know how you guys did your site and what i mean by that is you guys running a server or you doin like a package plan from someone that does web hosting,the question for this because a buddy and i wanted to start a clan on diablo but didnt know where to start,and i came across this site here while back and its pretty sophisticated thats why im askin this question so any helpful details you can throw my way i would really appreciate it and would put you as an affiliate on my site. if you need to get ahold of me my email is sluff_n_stuff@hotmail.com or i have yahoo messenger at its sluff_19 and thanks again. This is a dedicated server. Mainly because of the multiple sites and it would get costly having to have a hosting package for each. Plus d2sector.net uses well over 500GB a month in bandwidth, no normal packages have that much.

Sites are made with DreamweaverMX 2004 / Adobe Photoshop CS and the forums are vBulletin (http://www.vbulletin.com)

Server usually around $150-200 a month. Then there is things like the Hivemail Licence, Vbulletin Licence etc etc.

thats not bad for the server itself ofsourse this site is huge how much does the Vbulliten license cost or is it on the link ya posted earlier. you think i could get away with runnin off a web hosting site and still run run the Vbulliten or does that have to run off the server cuz its to big for a web hosting site.

It would probably run off of a normal hosting account. These particular forums cant, since they get a lot of views its processor usage is high and hosts often suspend your account for that.

Vbulletin is about $160.

yes if you make a website that you pay for and you fdont get amny recruits that would just be a waste of money having a website for like 10 people or so...

i personaly would start out with a EZboard forum with a free webhost. Then if you want you can put some cash into EZboard to make it popup free and such... but thats just me

yea...make a free hosting site first....get members or w/e to know ur site...den if u see the numbers are right....promote your new site there...
