Yeah, they won't draft anyone. Seniors go to the army right away because they can/are:
A) Go to college for free
B) They have nothing else better to do with their lives
C) Are patriotic
D) Want to be pilots, linguists/spies etc
E) Can retire at age 39 with a $40,000/year pension. They can also get a job and make even more money too.
People have so many reasons to join the army that we don't need a draft. In my opinion, someone who actually wants to fight is a better soldiers than someone who is forced to fight anyways.
What makes you think we would need a draft? We're trying to pull out of Iraq, especially since Bush is leaving office soon (1/28 right?). Unless there is a World War or something of a much larger scale, I don't think we'd have to worry about a draft anytime soon. And if there is a draft, just donate a kidney or something so you don't have to go. As long as darkness flows through my veins, I will never cease, As long as my dreams still haunt me, I will never show mercy, and as long as evil lives I will never die..... |
