Default Rain on a sandy day` - 06-06-2007, 04:34 AM

Today I decided to sand the wood I cut yesterday. My plan was to sand the cut pieces & then spraypaint them. But NOOOOOOOOOOOO the rain decided to fall. Thus, I had an opportunity to do some work inside, which includes building the light fixture for the blacklight which will illuminate the marquee, & creating a BEZEL to emphasize the monitor display:

Blacklight complete!!!

I created a light, while my son decided to BECOME A LIGHT!

Bezel done!

Logan was prepared for a fun day of building an arcade:

I forgot to cut notches in the rear doorpiece to make sure that the heat from the computer can escape:

My wife Nina even decided to help:

It was hot out today:

I managed to sand, paint, & put a handle on the door as well:

But in mid-sanding of the first sidepiece, I had to put everything inside because it started raining. F*cking NW Florida. F*cking "Emerald Coast"..

The computer arrived just in time yesterday though. I installed the emulators & everything seems to be working great, except that KI is a bit slow & the N64 emulator as well.

The PSOne emulator worked a bit too well.... It was flying like a million miles per hour through SOTN, so I'll have to tweak it out, as well as the N64 Emu. I tried U64 instead of MAME to run KI, with more positive results. The only things I hate about the U64 Emu are:

1.) The sound is uber-glitchy.
2.) It WAS a b*tch and a half to set up.
3.) The cutscenes are super-fast (but this actually is kinda cool too)

I don't think that by upgrading my CPU chip to a faster one and adding more RAM will really help (1.6GHz with 512MB RAM), although it COULD be possible. The limitation, I figure, is bus speed. Of course I'd love to have an additional 512MB or RAM, and a 3GHz+ chip in there, but I don't feel like pouring more $ into it. (I haven't even put the thing completely together yet!) But I know that it will be real sweet real soon! (I also wish I had a 21" flatscreen monitor to throw in there too LOL)

F*ck it, I bought some more RAM. I bought a 2GHz processor too.
