ATI: Good all around card

NVIDIA: Good for games

Whoever you talk to will give you different answers, but that is the basic breakdown of the two top ones.

ATI is good for video veiwing, editing and the rest. It is good for games, but NVIDIA is better.

NVIDIA = the oppisite.
